ERA REAL ESTATE OFFERS 'ACCREDITED BUYER REPRESENTATIVE' DESIGNATION THROUGH ITS ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM
Course helps sales associates develop skills and gain knowledge to better serve homebuyers

PARSIPPANY, NJ, December 26, 2002 - To help its affiliates continue their education in the field of buyer representation, ERA Real Estate has expanded its virtual classroom curriculum to include the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation, a National Association of Realtors® sanctioned course.

"In today's fast-paced market, real estate professionals need the tools and training to help home-buyers meet their specific needs," said Kathi Mathis, director of training, ERA Real Estate. "The convenience of instructor-led Web training offers our affiliates the opportunity to take advantage of educational programs without the time constraints of traveling to a class."

The two-day course is offered to ERA affiliates in seven 90-minute sessions that focus on buyer agency practices and procedures. In addition to the Web-based training session, candidates must pass a written examination; demonstrate practical experience as a buyer representative; and complete one elective course, choosing from four that Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) offers or two NAR courses to receive the ABR designation.

To maintain accreditation, the ABR® designees must be a member in good standing with REBAC and the National Association of Realtors®.

Rosalinda Chaney, a sales associate at ERA Shields in Colorado Springs, said earning the ABR® designation provided her the confidence and knowledge to better assist her clients. "The ABR® course enhanced my skills and ability to guide customers through the process of buying residential property," explained Chaney, a 13-year veteran of the real estate industry. "I look forward to taking a refresher ABR® course from the convenience of my home computer."

REBAC is the world's largest association of real estate professionals focusing specifically on representing real estate buyers. There are more than 42,000 active members worldwide.

To learn more about the ABR® designation and other educational programs for sales associates and brokers, ERA affiliates can visit TeamERA.com, the brand's award-winning Intranet site.
