P.J. MARTIN SMITH OF ERA FRANCHISE SYSTEMS LLC NAMED NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF
MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION CHICAGO, IL, August 22, 2003 – The Muscular Dystrophy Association recently named P.J. Martin Smith as a national vice president for the MDA. Martin Smith's appointment was made by MDA's board of directors. Martin Smith is the senior vice president of marketing for ERA Franchise Systems LLC, which has been an MDA corporate partner since 1977. The sole MDA corporate sponsor from the real estate industry, ERA Real Estate is among the top corporate contributors to MDA each year. In the past two and a half decades, ERA® franchisees have raised more than $30 million for MDA in support of the fight against neuromuscular diseases. Martin Smith began her tenure as a national vice president for MDA in July. In this role, she will be an official liaison between ERA Real Estate and the MDA, playing a lead role in all MDA fund-raising efforts conducted by ERA Real Estate.
