Situated in the shadow of Mt. Pilchuck, Granite Falls is a perfect stop before of after a mountain excursion. Turn-of-the-century architecture, unique local shops and eateries, and a distinct western foothills atmosphere contribute to the charm of this small community.

Big Four Ice Caves and the ghost town of Monte Cristo are popular destinations in July through September. The Ice Caves are actually tunnels in the permanent ice of the avalanche snow filed below Big Four Mountain during summer. These caves are beautiful but very dangerous, so enjoy and photograph them form a safe distance.

The popular "Mountain Loop Magic" tour guide is available from the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce.
